One day my best friend in japan told me
"You must watch
this film" When i was a university student.
This film is taling about his life in NYC 80s'. He was just 17 yeasr old to live on the street and sold his post card for living. And then had gotten to be the muse of the time and under culture of nyc.
I just saw the cover of the DVD and got to be satisfaited and not watched it.
At the moment, i didnt have any interests for Latin American culture.
The element of Haiti (is root of him) wasnt fascinating for me so much..
It's really funny because today i am in a middle of the continent of Latin America.
Anyway, I am watching this film already 3,4 times in this week.
I really addicted to this young dred-rock-guy. He is totally muse of this period.
i liked how he was living in NYC. And I liked his passion to be famous.
He really wanted to yell out with his art. It's natural for young talented guy.
And he started his carrier on the street as who lives on the street.
The 80s' is already very interesting decades.
As the pop-art, hip-hop, fashion, pop-culture, art movment.....
NEW YORK was melting spot not only as racional but also artistic.
There is the ambient for anybody to create something.
Like music, poet, art...
If you got star sing on the street, in a garage, the exbision just gonna start.
And hype young people gather to enjoy the party.
I was talking with my room mate here in Rio de janeiro,
that the situation of Rio is very similar or inspired for this NY art scean of 80's-90s'.
Can you imagine how exciting it is?
I think that's why i am still here.
Not only for this beautiful view of city but also for this fever of the young creating energy.
I sitll feel a little of the luck of the sense like "Rebel".
But surely there is some culture movements here.
